Highland Hospital in Alameda is the most enduring partnership of the CPMC ophthalmology residency. There are 4 "sub-service" lines under the Division: Alameda Health Systems/Highland Hospital. Our Division does not have oversight over the GI services at our sister hospitals San Leandro Hospital or Alameda Hospital. Our Division is administratively and clinically based at Highland Hospital and oversees one of the busiest specialty services within Alameda Health System, receiving approximately 550 new consults per month. The vast majority of our patients are referred from either our own Alameda Health System providers or our partner providers of the Community Health Center Network. We are dedicated to our clinical mission and continuously strive to provide accessible, compassionate, high value care to our patients and referring providers. Our Division is charged with overseeing the gastroenterology and hepatology care for the underserved citizens of Alameda County.
